Born and raised in Howells, NE, a rural farming community, Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree from Dana College in Blair, NE, and taught English literature for six years in two high schools in the Omaha metro area. While teaching, Jessica became heavily involved in Holocaust education, traveling to Poland and Israel with the Jewish Labor Committee’s Holocaust and Jewish Resistance Program, taking part in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Belfer I and Belfer Next Step programs, and getting in on some of the very first trainings of ADL’s Echoes and Reflections Teacher Resource Guide on the Holocaust. Jessica also served as Coordinator of the Tribute to the Rescuers Essay Contest for the Omaha ADL and Institute for Holocaust Education before joining the staff as Education Director full time in 2008. In 2013, Jessica accepted the position as Education Director in the Chicago office, and, recently, was promoted to Associate Regional Director overseeing media relations and communication and the Anti-Bias for Law Enforcement training in the Chicago/Upper Midwest Region of the ADL.
